Healing Eating and Weight Issues

Our philosophy is unique because we use the nondiet approach. We are both leaders in the nondiet movement and have trained thousands of nutritionists and other professionals to use this approach to heal eating and weight issues. Karin wrote the first professional book published on this topic, Moving Away From Diets, in 1996, with a second edition published in 2003.

The two primary causes of eating problems and weight issues are emotional eating and deprivation-driven eating (which can be caused by dieting). If you suffer from either, you will experience powerful food cravings, food preoccupation and overeating. The focus of our treatment is to heal compulsive eating through a process called attuned eating (or intuitive eating).

Because diets cause these problems (as well as "overweight" and "obesity"), a key to healing eating problems and weight issues is to quit dieting. However, dieters often no longer know how to eat without diets or meal plans or counting calories, carbs or fat grams. That is where attuned eating comes in.

Attuned eating will lead you to a freedom from food and weight issues that you may only have dreamed of. To find out how, give us a call today. Or, go to our home page for an overview of what you can begin doing to overcome overeating and find freedom.
